Monthly FIN traffic evolution
In April 2018, SWIFT recorded an average of 30.62 million FIN messages per day. Traffic grew by 7.9 % versus April 2017 which brings the year-to-date growth of +12.1%. Reporting messages contributed to 50% of the year-to-date growth and represented 47% of the total traffic.
Daily FIN traffic
SWIFT recorded its first peak day of the year on 28 February 2018, with 33,579,162 messages. It is 2.3 % (0.7 million messages) above the previous peak on 30 November 2017. The new peak was recorded in all three regions. Estimating’ traffic was the growth driver during the first week of February, when two new securities peaks were recorded with volumes close to 16 million messages. While end of month traditional reporting drives the Payments to a new peak of 16.7 million messages recorded.
